Meet the Teacher

John Siokas

Hello, I am John, and I am a Greek-Canadian bilingual English teacher who has spent 7 years helping students of all ages and backgrounds to learn and grow.

I am passionate about education and believe that every student has the potential to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. I strive to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued and supported, and where they are encouraged to explore their interests and reach their full potential.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy travelling around the world, which helps me stay energized and engaged with the world around me. I also love spending time with my family and friends, who bring me joy and inspiration.

Should I Learn English?

Language learning is essentially communication. We live in a world more connected than ever before which accentuates our need to understand and be understood. This brings mutual intelligibility to the forefront giving a new level of importance to vocabulary precision, pronunciation, grammar, and cultural awareness.

Your choice

Online vs In-Person

Online
offers the convenience of being able to access lessons from anywhere with an internet connection, making it an ideal option for students who have busy schedules or live in remote areas. It also provides a higher flexibility of scheduling sessions at a time that works best for the student.

In-person lessons take place only in Prague. This method offers a more personalized and hands-on approach. It fosters stronger student-teacher relationships, as it provides a more intimate and personal learning environment. Students may feel more comfortable asking questions and seeking help in-person, as they are able to establish a closer relationship with their teacher.

His passion for the subject shines through in every lesson, and he never fails to make me laugh and learn at the same time. He has a way of connecting with his students individually and has brought out the best in me. I used to dread English class, but now it's the highlight of my day thanks to him. I feel so lucky to have him as my teacher."
